“From the time Adsense and Adsense templates had been introduced, it has proven to be one of the most effective ways of generating more money over the Internet until someone else has ruined it all for you.” You think to yourself… “Why shouldI be the victim?” You asked.
You can never see a site without one of these ads plastered in some part of their pages. It does not really matter what their site is catering to. The only most important thing to all these people isthe presence of these Adsense ads on their sites.
Although a lot of site owners have used these ads to their advantage, there are still those who have not. Are you one of the unfortunate ones? Do not despair… it can be easy to make something out of Adsense if you play by the Google rules…Come on… even if you want to cheat, you have to be smart in cheating! How can you expect the spiders to like your page when you only give them “junk food” (error html pages)?
Imagine you that you had to eat junk food every day? I bet you would get sick! The foods are not healthy for you. After a while, you would get sick and tired of them. Worse still, when they realize that everybody is feeding them the same junk food, they start to despise those junk foods, and hence all of those junk websites are dropped quickly.
In Part 1, I am going to talk about two elements. They are:
1. Structured website layout.
Two years ago, simplicity was the key. Now that rule has slightly changed… Not only do you want your visitors try to find the information that they need on your site easily but you also want them to browse through your site for a “little” longer and then click away. Visitors these days can be very savvy, and many will just hit the “back” button if they realize that they have just landed on one of those “junk food” pages. You have to be smart.
If your primary purpose is to generate more Adsense income, then focus more on getting people to click on the ads, but at the same time you want to provide them some type of valuable content. Be careful about putting too many graphics, pictures or flash ads on your pages which can divert your visitors away from clicking on your ads. One or two is more than sufficient. Remember to give your adsense ads the space they deserve where people can see them the instant they come to your site.
2. Adsense template design.
I bet you’ve heard a lot of people advising you to steer clear from ready-made Adsense templates. When I heard that, I just laughed. That is a good example of hear-say turning into the “truth” just because so many people talk about it. On the contrary. I will even prove to you that sites generatedwith Adsense software can receive a high Google PageRank. Does this mean that Google operates on double standards?
When you buy Adsense templates, the single most important thing is content! Stop worrying about duplicated templates as long as (and yes, this is crucial)that the templates you bought are search-engine compliant or even better W3C validated templates! This means that the Google spiders will really love the “food” (your sites) you are feeding them because there aren't any html errors. Once you have that taken care of, you can then start thinking about putting your Adsense in the the proper places based on the Google heatmap.
Since Adsense is the brain child of Google, wouldn’t you think that they would have spent a lot of time and money testing out the formats and positions of the ads in order to attract the maximum click-thru-rate? It maybe different in different niches that you are in, but using their heatmap as a guideline will be a great start, and then experiment it withyourself. Google publishes a few case studies on sites that do well on Adsense also. Study those sites to see if there is anything that you can model your layouts after. Try to keep your ads as visible and as complementary to your site as possible. If Adsense is the primary revenue on the site, at least blend your ads well with the background wehere ever possible.
In Part 2, I am going to talk about how you can utilize html-error free templates to make your sites even more attractive. You can get Part 2 now at this LINK.
