Paid URL Inclusion for search engine inclusion
There are many ways to promote your website and one of the most efficient ways is to use search engines. Search engines are the first stop for most people trying to find information, services, and products online. Because of this, it is essential that your website appears quickly in search results. The Internet contains numerous search engines, some of which offer what is known as "paid inclusion." This means that you pay the specific search engine an annual fee for your web page to be included in their index.
Of course, every search engine already has an automated program commonly called a "spider" that indexes all the web pages it locates online, and it does this for free. So whether you pay or not, your web page will eventually be indexed by all Internet search engines, as long as the spider can follow a link to your page. The major issue is,then, how quickly your page is indexed.
A search engine that offers a paid URL inclusion uses an extra spider that is programmed to index the particular pages that have been paid for. The difference between the spider that indexes pages for free and the spider that indexes only pages for a fee is speed. If you have paid for inclusion, the additional search engine spider will index your page immediately.
The debate over paid URL inclusion centers around the annual fee. Since the regular spider of these search engines would eventually get around to indexing your web page anyway, why is a renewal fee necessary? The fee is necessary to keep your pages in the search engine's index. If you go the route of paid inclusion, you should be aware that at the end of the pay period, on some search engines, your page will be removed from their index for a certain amount of time.
It's easy to get confused about whether you would benefit from paid inclusion since the spider of any search engine will eventually index your page without the additional cost. There are both advantages and disadvantages to paid URL inclusion, and it is only by weighing your pros and cons that you will be able to decide whether to spring for the extra cash or not. The advantages are obvious: rapid inclusion and rapid re-indexing. Paid inclusion means that your pages will be indexed quickly and added to search results in a very short time after you have paid the fee. The time difference between when the regular spider will index your pages and when the paid spider will is a matter of months. The spider for paid inclusion usually indexes your pages in a day or two. Be aware that if you have no incoming links to your pages, the regular spider will never locate them at all.
Additionally, paid inclusion spiders will go back to your pages often, sometimes even daily. The advantage of this is that you can update your pages constantly to improve the ranking in which they appear in search engines, and the paid URL inclusion spider will show that result in a matter of days. First and foremost, the disadvantage is the cost. For a ten page website, the costs of paid URL inclusion range from$170 for Fast/Lycos to $600 for Alta vista, and you have to pay each engine their annual fee. How relevant the cost factor is will depend on your company.
Another, and perhaps more important, disadvantage is the limited reach of paid URL inclusions. The largest search engines, Google, Yahoo, and AOL, do not offer paid URL inclusion. That means that the search engines you choose to pay an inclusion fee will amount to a small fraction of the traffic to your site on a daily basis.
Google usually updates its index every month, and there is no way you can speed up this process. You will have to wait for the Google spider to index your new pages no matter how many other search engines you have paid to update their index daily. Be aware that it is only after Google updates their index that your pages will show up in Google, Yahoo,or AOL results.
One way to figure out whether paid URL inclusion is a good deal for your company is to consider some common factors.
As you can see, there are numerous factors to consider when it comes to paid URL inclusion. It can be a valuable investment depending on your situation. Evaluate your business needs and your website to determine if paid URL inclusion is a wise investment for your business goals.

Great tool to monitor your page rank and postition in the search engines

As I mentioned in my previous post, you need to be able to track and monitor yor page rank in the popular engines and and I found this great free tool to help you accomplish that task called Smart PageRank.com. This service has some unique features, some of which include:
-Email sent automatically if PageRank is updated
-Checks if PageRank is valid
-PageRank from multiple data centers
-Checks PageRank with and without "www"
-Displays number of backlinks, alexa ranking, and DMOZ links.
-Mini buttons to display your PageRank
-Weekly offers for related services
-Thumbnail of website
- 100% free
To access all these features such as the email notifications, you need to sign up but it's all free. Another unique feature of this Page Rank Checker is that is pulls ranks from multiple data centers. This is important in that many times, you can see changes coming for your site before the ranking actually changes and apply this to your site before the changes actually take place.
This is something Google has often done in the past as they get ready to release new PR algorithms and it's nice to be able to be able to see the pending changes and be able to predict with at least a small bit of reliability where you will be sitting after the next round. If all the scores from each data center are the same, you can rest easy that your PR is not changing but if you start seeing multiple reports with a number up or down from the rest, you can surmise that a change is likely coming your way.
The email feature is great too as you will always be aware of where you are what's going on with your site. Sign up today, it's free!

How to improve your search engine rankings
The methods employed to increase your search engine rankings may seem like rocket science to you, so you have probably avoided dealing with this issue. I am here to tell you - the time has come to face your website! A high search engine ranking for your website is so essential that if you have the slightest desire to actually succeed in your business, there is no way you can continue to avoid this
issue.
At least 85% of people looking for goods and services on the Internet find websites through search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and MSN. The idea of optimizing your pages for high search engine rankings is to attract targeted customers to your site who will be more than likely to make a purchase. The higher your page comes up in search engine results, the greater the traffic that is directed to your website. That's what search engine optimization is about.
You can immerse yourself in all the technical information available online to figure out how to optimize your web pages to achieve higher rankings. Or you can look at a few simple items on your pages, make some small adjustments, and most likely see improved rankings quite rapidly. The first item you should examine is the title bar on your homepage.
The title bar is the colored bar at the top of the page.Look at the words that appear there when you access your home page. To increase search engine rankings, the words on your home page's title bar should include the most important keywords or phrases, one of which would include your company name.
Then click on all your links and examine the title bars on the pages you access. Each title bar on every single page of your site should contain the most important keywords and phrases taken from the page itself. However, avoid very long strings of keywords, keeping them to six words or less. Avoid repeating keywords more than once in the title bars, and make sure that identical words are not next to each other.
The next item to put under your microscope is your website content. Search engines generally list sites that contain quality content rather than scintillating graphics. The text on your site must contain the most important keywords- the words that potential customers will be typing into search engines to find your site.
Lastly, we come to the issue of link popularity. This is a factor that is extremely important in terms of search engine rankings. Almost all search engines use link popularity to rank your website. Link popularity is based on the quality of the sites you have linked to from your links page.
If you type in "free link popularity check" in a popular search engine, the search engine will then show you what sites are linked to your site. In the case that there aren't many sites linked up to yours, or that the sites that are linked up have low search engine rankings, consider launching a link popularity campaign. Essentially, this entails contacting quality sites and requesting that they exchange links with your site. Of course, this requires checking out the rankings of the websites you want to link up with. Linking to popular, quality sites not only boosts your search engine ranking, but it also directs more quality traffic to your website.

SEO linking strategies
The number of inbound and outbound links are on the web page linking to your site are important for all 3 of the largest search engines, although each puts a different “weight or value” to them. Incoming links (another website linking to your site, ideally websites that are ranked high and are highly respected) are generally considered more valuable than simple keyword optimization and the like. Gauging relevancy can generally be done with a simple thought and that is: if I am on a site and the link makes sense to be there (for example, a web design company linking to a web hosting company) then it can be considered relevant. Another important factor in SEO and the building of relevancy to your site comes in the form of anchor text.
Of all the techniques used for SEO, probably still the most important, are the back links or incoming links you have to your website. While reciprocal linking can also be very useful, it generally agreed that the one-way link is the most powerful. One quick way to develop some of those one way links is to write articles which you will share that have you link in them, to increase the incoming links back to your site.
If you are an American or an English site, with any keywords that require different spellings for each side of the pond, and you want to either capture the other market or even, in the case of UK sites, be sure of covering all angles in your own market, best optimize for both. There are different schools of thought on this, but language is changing on both sides of the Atlantic, and anyone with a website that wants to take advantage of two of the biggest markets in online business, should know exactly when search engines find it important.

Seo – Search Engine optimization
Web business owners commit some SEO & ranking gaffes, sometimes without even knowing what we've done. Search Engine Optimization has became a major keyword in the search engine markets today. Search Engine Optimization is also known as SEO, which is simply a method of allowing you to improve your website ranking in the search engine. As the owner of a search engine optimization company, I have seen the SEO industry evolve a great deal over the years but never more dramatically than it is currently. Search Engine Optimization is one of most important keyword in the Internet market today, and it's time to start a "World SEO Championship" to share all the secrets about SEO among all the Internet webmaster. SE algorithms are like the latest fashions in clothing and they change faster than you can learn them
Search engine optimization can take a true "organic SEO" approach, which is using keyword research and linking as tool. Here, we will focus on both on and off site SEO optimization. Both are critical to aid in getting your site indexed in the search engines in the shortest time possible. Paid SEO is can be a more expensive but much faster route, unless you are among the few who have the time, skills and resources to do it yourself, to keep up with the ever changing rules and various algorithms. While it's important to spend some time optimizing your website and obtaining links for SEO purposes, spending several hours a day tweaking every page of your site just to please the search engines is not a productive way to spend your time. Also, rather than spending hours building links for SEO purposes, that time could be better spent on adding features to your web site which would prompt more people to return to your site and stay at your web site for a longer period of time.

Search Engine Optimization
Do you know what the most important tool for search engine optimization is? Words...but why do I say that? Well it's quite simple really. The first and foremost thing to optimize your site once the search engines know where to look is to make sure that it's robot friendly. In the old days of the Internet, before spiders...a real live person actually went to site to review it and then if your site was found worthy it was indexed and added to the search engines. Now obviously with the growth rate the Internet has experienced that didn't last long at all, and the search engine "spider" or "robot" was created.
So that being said, let's go back to why I said "words" are the most important factor in website SEO. Here's an example. You spend hours and hours creating a beautiful website for your business. You had seen a cool website on the Internet that was built from flash and decided to go that route on your own. Flash is mostly a bunch of pictures, that create an interactive environment. You research your keywords, publish it on the Internet, submit it to the SE's, it's found and indexed, but alas the traffic doesn't show? What gives? Your site is beautiful!
The main problem will be that the SE spiders can't read it and get bored and go away without ever fully indexing your site because they can't understand it. Hence your site is ranked so low that it's back on the 15th page of the search engines for your search term. Now there are numerous tips for correcting this issue but this first is words. Spiders like words! They like words for content, they like wordy menu's and the more words you have that the spiders can use to decipher what your site is about, the better you'll rank in the SE's.
So use words and lots of them. If you have a good contextual based site about you and services, a good contextual link structure, they will come (the spiders that is) and they will come often. Once you have that part of your site in order you can then work on the other 10 things that you will need to get ranked in the search engines, but start with words!

Search engine tips
If you have good content and present it in a reasonable way, then you have an excellent chance of achieving good positions in search engine queries for your main keywords and keyword phrases. You don't have to resort to any trickery to get your site noticed. Many designers want their site to look good and replace headlines with gif images. The headlines are one of the most important elements on any printed page. If you are selling green widgets and want to be found in the search engines by people who make the query "green widgets" then you should put these words in a text headline, properly marked, at the top of your page.
If your page is about blue widgets, then an opening headline saying "Get the Best Blue Widgets from the ACME Widget Company" is a good start, and a picture of a blue widget would be OK, but why stop there? People come to the web looking for information. They come to find a solution to their problem or to find something that will benefit them in some way. If it takes you a few paragraphs or even a whole page to explain all the benefits that your widgets offer, then by all means add that text to your page. It will help your users, and in the process you will be repeating your keywords and phrases again which in turn will tell the search engines that this page is truly about blue widgets.
Normally you will want your site to rank well for a variety of phrases and keywords. You can't stuff all of these keywords and search phrases in one headline or in one title tag. It will cause "indigestion" for both your viewers and for the search engines. A better strategy is to organize your website into different pages, with each page emphasizing a certain aspect of your activity.
